Website Redesign · Case Study

A professional portfolio with clear positioning and purpose.

Aris Digital Hub began as a practical environment for tracking, analytics and digital marketing projects. V2 develops that foundation into a portfolio bringing together my professional journey and the work I have built along the way.

Starting point

The website existed. The professional story did not.

Aris Digital Hub began as a practical environment for tracking, analytics and digital marketing. It already had a domain, hosting, WordPress and initial GA4 and Google Tag Manager connections, but lacked a coherent presentation of my professional identity, experience and work.

The redesign started with an audit of the existing technical foundation, content and reusable material. What worked was preserved while the architecture, narrative and overall experience were rebuilt.

Project classification: A self-directed Aris Digital Hub redesign and implementation project. This case study documents the thinking, decisions and process behind the website—not traffic, leads, conversions or revenue.

The website’s evolution

From a generic service website to a recruiter-first portfolio.

The change went beyond design. A broad service presentation became a professional portfolio built around the recruiter’s perspective and supported by evidence.

Platform decision

Three possible routes. A new website on the same foundation.

The decision considered more than speed: ownership, measurement continuity and a stable foundation for new content and future growth.

OPTION 01

New AI website platform

Hostinger Horizons offered a fast greenfield build and freedom to explore design. Moving to a separate platform, however, would require migration and revalidation.

  • Rebuild or reconnect GA4 and GTM
  • Migrate and recheck the existing structure
  • Adopt a new management and maintenance workflow
  • Greater dependency on platform-specific development
OPTION 02

Keep WordPress. Rebuild the experience.

Retain the proven CMS and hosting foundation, isolate testing in staging and renew the positioning, architecture, pages and visual system.

  • Existing domain and CMS continuity
  • Preserve the measurement foundation
  • Flexibility for new projects and future content
  • Control over plugins, versions and maintenance
Selected architecture
OPTION 03

Full custom rebuild

A custom application would offer more technical control but add unnecessary development and maintenance complexity to a content-led portfolio.

  • Higher implementation cost and workload
  • More custom CMS responsibility
  • More migration work
  • Limited additional value for this scope

End-to-end method

From evidence audit to controlled implementation.

Audit the existing foundation

Reviewed the live website, content, projects, certifications, WordPress, hosting, tracking and reusable assets.

Define professional positioning

Defined what the portfolio should communicate and how to distinguish professional experience, client collaboration, learning projects and simulations.

Organize content and navigation

Focused the main navigation on Portfolio, CV and Contact, with Beyond the CV as a separate route into the personal story.

Create protected staging

Set up a protected staging environment to develop and test the new structure without affecting the live website.

Build modular WordPress components

Organized shared design rules in an Astra child theme and content in independent components that could evolve page by page.

Design and test in HTML

Created standalone HTML previews, reviewed them in the browser and transferred each page into WordPress after its direction was approved.

Validate before publication

Checked navigation, responsive behaviour, evidence links, backups and separation between staging and live before publication.

Design iteration workspace

ChatGPT Sites became the visual decision workspace.

Repeated ZIP uploads into WordPress were too slow for visual exploration. The workflow evolved: build each page as a standalone HTML preview, review it locally in the browser and refine it through specific feedback.

This separated design approval from installation. Typography, spacing, image crops, hierarchy, contrast and the black–olive–cream palette could be resolved without repeatedly changing staging.

From staging to live

Test changes before publication.

The design system, pages and content were developed in protected staging. An Astra child theme held shared typography, colours and responsive rules, while focused plugins organized individual functions. Small ZIP releases were checked separately and approved before transfer to live.

Shared design foundationThe Astra child theme brought typography, palette, spacing and responsive rules into one system.
Protected staging environmentDevelopment took place with HTTPS, Maintenance Mode and caching active, isolated from the live site.
Small, independent releasesVersioned plugins organized content and functionality so changes could be installed, tested and corrected independently.

Structured AI collaboration

AI accelerated the work. Human judgement kept control.

  • Created HTML previews and reusable design components.
  • Assisted implementation, CSS refinement and QA.

Outcome

Strategy translated into a controlled digital system.

Aris Digital Hub V2 brings my professional experience, digital knowledge and projects into a coherent journey. It provides a foundation for new case studies, evidence and content without rebuilding the website each time.
